On the evening of Thursday, June 25th, the team at Shooting Touch is hosting a virtual gathering to hear directly from the young women and families of color we serve in Boston as a means to gain new insight and perspective on the livelihood of those facing ongoing discrimination. The power of sport and its ability to fill gaps in racial, social, health and gender inequities are at the very core of our work and why it was founded 12 years ago.
Right now, we all need to learn more, listen harder and truly understand and absorb the importance of the “Black Lives Matter” movement. Racism is a public health crisis and as past, present and future supporters of our organization’s mission, you are helping make our programming and future outcomes for our girls possible. Many of you are wanting to help create change and join in the fight again racial inequality and the first step is listening and learning first hand from our families truths and the daily challenges and barriers they have faced navigating through a country in deep need of systemic change.
We are looking forward to “seeing” you on June 25th.
